The Manyar Smelter, currently being developed in the Java Integrated Industrial Estate (JIIPE) in Gresik, East Java on a plot of land spanning 100 hectares, is PTFI’s second copper concentrate refining and processing facility, that is built as part of PTFI’s commitment to comply with the IUPK terms.

The Manyar Smelter is designed to have a copper concentrate processing capacity of 2 million tons per year, making this smelter the largest copper processing site in the world. The processing output of the Manyan Smelter will be added to the processing capacity of the existing smelter facility, PT Smelting, which has a processing capacity of 1 million tons of copper concentrate per year. Thus, after the Manyar Smelter starts operating, PTFI will be able to process 3 million tons of copper concentrate per year. 

In the first quarter of 2020, the process of developing the Manyar Smelter has entered the ground improvement phaser.

About the job VP Smelter and Refining, Business Process

Responsible for the development and implementation of organization and strategies regarding the establishment of departmental support for operational activities associated with the facility including permitting, community outreach, recruitment and onboarding, finance and accounting, supply chain and sales logistics coordination. Responsible for the implementation of business processes and systems to achieve business and budgetary targets. Once the facility is operational, responsible for the overall management of the operational support functions consistent with achieving corporate support group objectives within targeted timeframes. Accountable for the efficient operation of the support groups and business processes in accordance with corporate directives as well as a targeted production and cost budgets. Set up and ensure governance and compliance of smelter and refining support groups with all business processes, company standards and practices. Collaborate and support operational functions of the smelting and refining group. Manage the execution of special projects within defined capital programs and budgets.


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Planning and coordinating non-operational administrative activities supportive of business functions within the organization.
  • Advocacy and development of departmental administrative procedures and systems as well as devising ways for continuous improvement to streamline processes.
  • Recruiting and training personnel and allocate responsibilities and office space.
  • Assessing staff performance and provide coaching and guidance to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Guiding and networking the prioritization for business elements affected by support group requirements in areas related to Information Systems, Training, Community Development and Government Relations, Human Resources, Environment and Global Sourcing.
  • Serving as a liaison between site and a diverse cross section of senior management in communicating the status and outcomes for special projects and administrative reporting.
  • Overseeing scoping and implementation of special administrative projects defined by Corporate or site level objectives.
  • Serve as company representative to trade groups, business related boards, community outreach programs, and governmental discussions on matters concerning business interface with local and regional stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and ten (10) years progressive managerial experience and business administration in mining operations, mineral beneficiation and refining processes or relative field.
  • Proven experience as manager for a variety of administrative business functions.
  • Experience in green field start-up operation.
  • Proven track record in setting up of business systems across multiple departments. In depth knowledge of enterprise system SAP is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of office management procedures, compliance and strong governance practices, in addition to departmental and legal policies.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on schedule and budget.
  • Excellent knowledge in material management and supply chain is essential.
  • Strong knowledge in financial and facilities management principles including budget management.
  • Experience in applying technology to improve business process and controls.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization using spoken and written media approaches.
  • An analytical and strategic skillset to assess and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • A team player with collaboration and leadership skills with a focus on functional support to the success of the operations objectives.
  • Proficient in MS Office.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Masters Level) and qualifications in business administration and business functions.
  • Qualifications and knowledge in Project Management such as PMP (PMBOK) or Prince2 or equivalent.
  • Supply Chain qualifications such as SCPro (CSCMP), CPIM/CSCP (APICS), CIPS or equivalent.
